28 Feb Thank you and congratulations
Well what a day.
We are so humbled by the turnout today. A very quick head count at one stage yielded over 200, and there were many people that popped in for a visit during the day as well.
There were 2 main goals of today: raising some additional funds to help us finish what Nick started by completing his album; and announcing the inaugural winner of the Grant.
We still have to do a final count, but indications are that we have raised over $5,500. So thank you so much to all of those that came along today, and for parting with some of your hard earned money in order to get us closer to our target.
We would also like to announce that Jed Appleton was the winner of the inaugural Nick Balcombe Foundation Grant. Please join us in congratulating Jed, and we look forward to working with him over the next 12 months to assist him with his music goals and dreams.
A few weeks ago, we also decided to include an additional award, which we have for now named the “Kick Start Award”. Congratulations to Fibonacci for taking out the award this year.
We were amazed by the quality of the applications we received this year, the musical talent in Tassie is unbelievable. Thank you to all of the bands and artists that entertained us today, the feedback we have received already shows that everyone thoroughly enjoyed listening to you.
