New releases of Nick’s live performances

**** EXCITING NEWS!! **** Over the last few months we have been searching through Nicko’s hard drives for music recordings that might help us to record his posthumous album, and in doing so have uncovered some pretty amazing live recordings. We have recording’s from Tasmania, Australia, and from his travels in Europe, and all feature Nicko casually engaging the audience from his seat on the stage: softly spoken, laughing, and smiling. We all know how much effort Nick put into his music, and he was just as attentive towards which music he released for people to hear - most live versions were not quite perfect enough in Nick’s mind to be released! But now they take on new meaning: no longer is just about the skill and perfection of his playing, but for us the listeners (for Nicko’s loved ones around the world) it is about hearing Nick’s voice again and imagining his...

Thankyou to everyone for coming along and supporting our event at MONA, also thanks to those of you who have helped but were not able to make it along. Thank you and congratulations

Well what a day. We are so humbled by the turnout today. A very quick head count at one stage yielded over 200, and there were many people that popped in for a visit during the day as well. There were 2 main goals of today: raising some additional funds to help us finish what Nick started by completing his album; and announcing the inaugural winner of the Grant. We still have to do a final count, but indications are that we have raised over $5,500. So thank you so much to all of those that came along today, and for parting with some of your hard earned money in order to get us closer to our target. We would also like to announce that Jed Appleton was the winner of the inaugural Nick Balcombe Foundation Grant. Please join us in congratulating Jed, and we look forward to working with him over the next 12...

Pozible Campaign

The time has finally come to let you all know about this exciting project we have been working on. Imagine if you didn't get to finish your life's work. Our beautiful friend Nick touched many people through his music, friendship, professional life and family. Nick was a passionate Tasmanian living his his dream. Touring Europe, playing along side artists like Donavon Frankenreiter, and recording whenever time and funds allowed.  Following his tragic death in 2014 due to a stroke, his vast network of friends and fans have been keen to do something that celebrates his life and achievements, and create a legacy that Nick would be proud of. With the support of family and friends, we have created the Nick Balcombe Foundation that provides an annual grant for contemporary music in Tasmania. But there is some other unfinished business...
